Better then Pay Per View

You know it's gonna be a good day when the 1st thing you see in the morning makes you laugh til your sides hurt. Beautiful moment of the day. Watching a big Okie guy ready to duke it out in the middle of the street.

The big Okie in his "I drive a huge truck to compensate for a lil penis" truck was cruising up the Blvd at about 10 mph with some kid ricer in his "I got this with my folks $$$ but I lowered it so I'm cool" Integra right on his tail. Ricer boy is mad since he can't show off his exhaust at 10 mph so he sits on his horn for half a block, prompting Okie man to pull over in the middle of the Blvd and jump out of his car. Ricer Boy swerves to avoid the enraged redneck then in a moment of genius throws his car in reverse to go after Okie Man forcing the big peckerwood to hop back in his truck. Ricer Boy then zooms past with Big Okie hot on his tail. I wish I saw the ending but they were last seen turning right on Olympic at about 50 mph. Road rage is a beautiful thing.

Oops

I used to have this lil thing called a blog. My lil spot on the web that'd be filled up with whatever was on my mind. Good or bad. Sometimes I'd even post pics.

Back then it was easy. Go about my day, make observations all the while pondering, "is this worth blogging?". I still do that. I'm just too burned to actually get my fingers on the keyboards. Seriously. We're at the point where even im's are a chore so AIM only gets turned on a couple of days a week.

But in the meantime I've been plenty busy. In the past month I got stuck with 2 7 day work weeks which kicked my ass. For some reason videogames are making a big comeback in my life so whenever I stumble in late at night it's time to fire up the X-Box or Gamecube.

But anyways......

This week's LA Weekly has a pretty nice review of GR/eats and a whole overview of the whole GR phenomena. Pretty cool and detailed write-up. If you count there's only 3 paragraphs about the restaurant itself and Jonathan Gold comes off like an oldschool GR fan and purveyor of all things yellow. Shocked the hell out of me to find out he was married with kids. I always had this mental image of him as a fat, old, white guy eating by himself in a corner.

Mr Sulu is gay? Who woulda thunk? I think I pretty much figured out what team he played for by the time I was 14. Still he had some classic appearances back on the Howard Stern show where they'd try to get him to admit his sexuality and hate on Capt. Kirk. I think he shoulda just come out in his book. It prolly would have sold a few more copies instead of being relegated to the giftshop at the Japanese American Museum downtown which may be the only place in the world to find it. Poor Mike is going to be crushed by this revelation about his thesbian role model.

I'm currently trying VERY hard to alleviate cursing from daily routine. Watching a softball game last week a batter swung, missed, and cursed loudly. The umpire came up with one of the bset lines ever.

"Cursing doesn't make you a good ballplayer. This (taps heart) is what makes you a ballplayer."

Words to live by.
