Skin Deep

I should really make a point to post more about my friends. A pic like this makes it easy. This Bret, one of my softball teammates and one of the raddest dudes I know. He's one of the main reasons softball is fun. At least when we win. Tonight at the end of practice he and Michael had the rest of rolling with their "theatrical" infield play featuring , between the leg , 360 spins , diving bellyflops, and cartwheels. Too bad there were only 6 of us on hand to witness it.

This is from Bret's trip last week to Hawaii. Did I mention he's the coolest White boy from Texas married to a Japanese girl in the world? His wife Happy is awesome too, earning her stripes watching us lose week after week and still coming back to watch. We have to make a team outting to watch her band play. If you ever see Mr Banta on the street bust out the nihongo on him. He's been practicing.

I shoulda really known better then to practice tonight. My heel's been aching for awhile now and I wasn't even planning on stepping on the field. But seeing the short turnout for some reason sent a warped brain signal that had me lacing up the cleats. I pretty much diagnosed my ailment as a case of being too fat and a worn out pair of cleats = aching heel.
