Going to a higher power to find out why my knee is taking so long to heal I learned the following. If you bust up a scar there's not going to be the blood flow and scabbing you'd get from a wound on a unmarked part of the body. Oh.
I really, really wanna see the new Star Wars movie. In prepartion I've been watching the original trilogy on dvd. I may even break down and get the 1st 2 prequels too. So who wants to wait in line with me Friday?
Cool thing I noticed at the end of Revenge of the Jedi. In the closing scene where they show the ghosts of Yoda, Obi Wan, and Anakin, they replaced the ghost of the old man from the original cut with the young Anakin from the prequels. I'm prolly the last person to notice this.
I'm currently pondering the follwing moral dilemma. If Anakin fucks over all the Jedis and fucks with the whole universe as Darth Vader, then why does simply killing the Emperor make him good again? I think it'd take a lil more then that karma wise. If that was the case I'd be an angel by now.

your dilemma is not an uncommon one. i myself have struggled for years over the catholic tradition of final confession, and how a mob guy can live a miserable homicidal cruel life and wash it all away with a couple of minutes with a priest. i have never been okay with any of that.
of course, being an unbeliever, it probably doesn't matter for me. if, however, there is a god in the judeo/christian catholic sense, with the beard and robes and pearly gates and stuff, my professed agnostic friends say that they will shrug and say, "okay, you win..."
i, on the other hand, will be pissed and will not hesitate to complain about his weak system of signs and miracles to maintain the faith. and the bad face he put on for los indios from the 15th century on. PRETTY WEAK, GOD, YOU SACK, i will say.
in terms of your karma, i am sure that you have had plenty of time to consider this, but few people are all bad or all good. and fewer people are trying to be bad all of the time. so, a little effort on your part, and you will probably make the cut. if you are a hindu, the wheel will cut you some slack and you won't come back as a caterpillar or a porcupine. and if you are a buddhist, you might get kicked up by a notch or two of enlightenment.
so, unless you are an ultraconservative muslim, and the 'good' way for you is to plunge a flaming truck full of explosives into a shopping mall at xmas. ... but let's not even think about that, for now. praise allah.
but i admit my own weakness when i say that i do enjoy your descriptions of chasing gnarly shoplifters out of your store and down the street with improvised weapons and facing down deadbeat chiselers with the threat of physical danger...
that sort of strength will sometimes make the other strengths possible.
thus, you look like you are doing pretty okay.

I always wondered about that Mobster Catholic logic too. If I'm ever on my deathbed I'm getting a Priest for last rites. Just in case.
